Pokémon is such a big franchise that every release comes with rumors about content that may or may not appear in-game. In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk, one item in particular is proving quite the mystery—the Mythical Pecha Berry.

This Key Item was discovered in SV’s code when the expansion launched. It has a special purpose, but you won’t know what that is until you are ready to experience the game’s epilogue story.

The Mythical Pecha Berry is not located in any playable portion of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This means it’s unobtainable and there is no official way to get it by just playing the game. The only way to officially get a Mythical Pecha Berry is through an active Mystery Gift distribution that went live on Jan. 11 at 8am CT as part of the epilogue to the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero expansion.

This item distribution has no end date as of its release, which means players don’t need to rush to get the Mythical Pecha Berry if they haven’t completed Scarlet and Violet’s other DLC content yet.

This special “epilogue” story to Scarlet and Violet’s expansion pass is free to all players who have purchased the DLC and has players returning to the Land of Kitakami with some familiar characters. We already had some information about this event thanks to datamines, but now you can experience it for yourself thanks to the Mythical Pecha Berry and its ties to a new Pokémon named Pecharunt

Pecharunt is a new Mythical Pokémon tied to the story of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. The game itself doesn’t do a good job of explaining how the Poison/Ghost-type is involved with Kitakami and its other Legendary Pokémon, but it is available to catch as part of the epilogue, Mochi Mayhem.

Tip: Beware of Pokémon spoilers!

Because the Mythical Pecha Berry and the event is live for everyone, if you want to go in spoiler-free, you should still be wary of the Pokémon content creators and social pages. The epilogue is not story-heavy, but there are some fun moments you might want to see for yourself first.

Before it was released, Pecharunt was teased a few times in Scarlet and Violet—most prominently in the Land of Kitakami, where The Teal Mask and this new story take place. Without spoiling the event, Pecharunt can control other creatures both in and out of battle and it shares a history with the Loyal Three and Ogrepon, which you will learn a bit about through this horror movie-inspired epilogue.
