The big events in Pokémon Go are a great way to bring players together, and the latest one is the Wild Area 2024 event. This one features several new features for the mobile game, but are these upcoming additions worth it for anyone on the fence about buying a ticket?

The big question boils down to whether you want to dedicate time to the event and whether you can focus on it from start to finish. From there, you also have to consider how many activities are group-based or what you can do by yourself while wandering around in your local area. You want a good mixture of friendly activities that you can do with friends and things you can do by yourself. For those wondering if it’s going to be worth buying the Wild Area 2024 Ticket, we’ll break down what you get for doing it in Pokémon Go and everything happening that you receive with the ticket.

The Wild Area 2024 ticket costs $11.99 (or the local equivalent based on your currency). The ticket guarantees increased access to the event, but because it is global, many of the features are available to all Pokémon Go players. However, the upside is all the bonuses you receive and various items given to you when you buy the ticket. Here’s everything you get when you purchase the Wild Area 2024 Ticket during the event, which takes place from Nov. 23 to 24, from 10am to 6:15pm in your local time zone:

  • An encounter with Toxtricity
  • Five free Raid Passes each day of the event
  • Increased chances to hatch Toxel from 10km eggs
  • Increased special trades (up to six) each day, with reduced Stardust costs
  • All egg hatching distance is halved
  • Twice as much candy for catching Pokémon
  • A higher chance to encounter Shiny Pokémon

If you plan to participate in the event throughout the week, buying the Wild Area 2024 Ticket is a good idea. You have more chances to find any missing Shiny Pokémon you want to add to your collection, you guarantee you have an encounter with Toxtricity with increased chances to find Toxel from eggs, and you have more opportunities to trade and raid with other Pokémon Go players.

Toxtricity in four-star raids and Gigantamax Toxtricity are the main focuses for the event. There’s also the opportunity to find Origin Palkia and Dialga raids, Primal Groudon and Kyogre, the return of Pikachu Pop Star and Rock Star costumes, and Mighty Pokémon make their debut during the event.

Mighty Pokémon are one of the other new features being added to Pokémon Go during this event. These are Pokémon that have a higher chance to appear in the wild with increased attack, defense, and health stats. However, because they are Mighty Pokémon, they are more challenging to catch. You’ll want to use the new Poké Ball developed for the Wild Area event, the Safari Ball.

Everyone playing the mobile game during the event receives a Timed Research that provides a small amount of Safari Balls, with a chance of more appearing when spinning Poké Stops or Gym Dials. However, by purchasing the Wild Area 2024 Ticket, you get a new Timed Research task every hour to receive additional Safari Balls. Unfortunately, you can miss out on them if you’re not paying attention and completing these tasks alongside everything else you might be trying to do during the event.

Because of these reasons and the many benefits we’ve listed for all ticket holders, grabbing the Wild Area 2024 ticket is a great idea. Again, you’ll only want to grab it if you plan to attend the event from 10am to 6:15pm in your local area. It’s a full day of walking around, playing, and working with other Pokémon Go players who are in your area. You’ll want to coordinate with a group of at least 15 to 20 people if your goal is to complete the Gigantamax raids against Toxtricity, or the other Legendary five-star raids, but you can get away with smaller groups for the five-star raids.
