How to get all Starter Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk

Players have a special relationship with Starter Pokémon. They’re the first partner many players get when playing a Pokémon game. Every Stater is now obtainable in Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk, though you might have difficulty finding them at first.

When you first arrive at Blueberry Academy and gain access to the Terarium, the urge to run off and try to find yourself a Charmander or Rowlet might be vital. That will have to wait until you progress the DLC’s story and gain access to the Blueberry League’s Club Room since they won’t appear until you upgrade the Terarium. Because you have to wade through this progression, we strongly recommend focusing on the main story until all locations open up. Here’s what you need to know about unlocking every Starter Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk.

How to unlock every Starter Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk

After finishing the intro to the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk story, you can talk to Carmine at the Central Plaza and you will gain access to the League Club Room. Inside, you can contribute Blueberry Points (BP) you earn by completing quests in the Terarium to unlock new items and features—such as the Item Printer and new Throwing Styles.

Toward the bottom of the club listings, you will find four different requests to “boost biodiversity” within the Terarium’s Biomes. Each contribution costs a hefty 3,000 BP, or 12,000 BP total, but will cause new species of Pokémon to spawn across the academy, namely all 24 Starter Pokémon from Gen I to VIII. So you better get grinding Blueberry Quests (BBQs) if you want to unlock all four upgrades!

In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk, once you upgrade one of the four Terarium Biomes—Coastal, Savanna, Canyon, or Polar—a handful of Starter Pokémon will begin spawning in select locations. In total, six Starter Pokémon will spawn per Biome, leaving you to track down their habitats within each, which we have already done for you.

You might run into some difficulties tracking down these Starter Pokémon. They are considered rare encounters, making it harder for them to appear when you’re exploring these regions. You’ll want to patrol each area, attempting to branch out and track down each available starter to add to your collection.

Coastal Biome

Starter Pokémon	Description	Location
Bulbasaur	You can find Bulbasaur inside the inner section of the Coastal Biome.
Chikorita	Chikorita appears close to Bulbasaur, but also along the outskirts.
Froakie	Froakie has a chance to spawn close to the northern part of the Coastal Biome.
Grookey	You can find Grookey while exploring the eastern part of the Coastal Biome.
Mudkip	Mudkip can spawn in the southwest part of the Coastal Biome. It’s a rare spawn, and exceptionally hard to get.
Popplio	Popplio can appear all over the Coastal Biome, typically along the beach.

Savanna Biome

Charmander	You can find Charmander while exploring the southern edges of the Savanna.
Fennekin	You can find Fennekin on the southwest border between the Savanna and the Canyon Biomes.
Rowlet	You can find Rowlet nearly all over the Savanna Biome.
Snivy	You can find Snivy on the northeast border between the Savanna and the Coastal Biomes.
Sobble	You can find Sobble where there’s water in the Savanna.
Totodile	You can Totodile swimming in the water in the Savanna, sometimes next to Sobble.

Canyon Biome

Chespin	You can find Chespin between the Canyon and the Polar Biomes.
Litten	You can find Litten all over the northern section of the Canyon Biome,
Squirtle	There’s a good chance to find Squirtle while exploring the southern area of the Canyon Biome.
Tepig	You can find Tepig on the rocky areas of the Canyon Biome.
Treecko	You can find Treecko on the southern region of the Canyon Border.
Turtwig	You can find Turtwig all over the Canyon border, in the northern region.

Polar Biome

Chimchar	Chimchar has a high chance to appear along the southern side of the Polar biome.
Cyndaquil	Cyndaquil appears inside an ice cave in the Polar Biome, in a cave close to the Coastal Biome on the northeast side of the map.
Oshawott	Oshawott has a high chance to appear throughout the northern section of the Coastal Biome.
Piplup	Piplup has a high chance to appear anywhere on the icy sections of the Polar Biome.
Scorbunny	You can find Scorbunny while searching in the southern part of the Polar Biome.
Torchic	Torchic has the chance to appear inside a small cave on the southwest side of the Polar Biome.
