Already looking to fill that Lucky Paldeck, huh?

Shiny Pokémon enthusiasts will be happy to know an equivalent exists in Palworld in the form of rare Lucky Pals. Luckies differ from Shinies in most ways, but they share one crucial trait: their low spawn chances.

Like Shinies, the odds of Lucky Pals spawning in Palworld are considerably lower than regular versions. Developer Pocketpair has yet to disclose the official spawn rate for Luckies, so we’ll be making rough estimates based on my gameplay and the experience of other community members.

What are the Shiny Lucky Pal odds in Palworld?

According to both our experience and that of others, you should find one Lucky Pal roughly every 10 hours of playtime in Palworld. However, developer Pocketpair has not publicly stated what the Lucky Pal spawn odds are in Palworld. We found our first Lucky eight hours into the game, and there have been reports of others finding three Luckies after around 30 hours in-game.

You can also get lucky and find a Lucky Pal immediately. A Palworld fan on Reddit shared they found their first Lucky Pal during their first hour. The statistics for Lucky Pals are likely to improve as more community members share their experiences online.

Tip: What do Lucky Pals look like?

Lucky Pals have several identifiable features. Luckies will be bigger than their counterparts, with a faint, vibrant shine, and a jingle will follow them for players to hear.

Ultimately, Lucky Pals—just like Shiny Pokémon—spawn at random, so it’s entirely possible someone just gets very lucky and comes across a Lucky Pal early in their playthrough. Likewise, you might find yourself on the other side of that 10-hour estimation: it’s all down to chance.

How do Lucky Pal spawn rates compare to Pokémon shinies?

Many fans are obviously drawing comparisons between Lucky Pals in Palworld and the odds of finding a Shiny Pokémon in Pokémon Go and Scarlet and Violet. Compared to Pokémon, Lucky Pal’s are a lot rarer to find—thanks in part to extra items in Pokémon boosting shiny odds.

The closest comparison between Palworld and Pokémon is in Scarlet and Violet, which has a one-in-4,096 chance of encountering a Shiny Pokémon. But, after applying boosts from items like certain sandwich recipes and Sparkling Power, those odds drop significantly. No such boost item exists in Palworld yet so you’ll just need to roam the lands and get lucky.

That’s not to say Palworld developer Pocketpair may add items to the game in the future that increase your chance of coming across Lucky Pals in the wild, so keep your eyes peeled on updates or on the official Discord server for updates.

Are Lucky Pals stronger in Palworld?

Yes, Lucky Pals are stronger than their regular counterparts regarding their stats. Each Lucky Pal has a buff called Rare, giving them 15 percent extra Work Speed and Attack Power.

Getting Lucky Pals in Palworld is significantly harder than capturing regular ones due to their lower catch rate. The fight will be longer, and so will the catch process. I recommend keeping lots of Pal Spheres on you, as I spent around 25 Spheres during my first Lucky encounter.

Fear not if you run out of resources to catch the Lucky Pal since it won’t despawn. You’ll be able to return to your base and come back with the necessary equipment to finish the job.

So, there you have it. You know everything you need about how rare the Lucky Pals are in Palworld. Enjoy our tips on shiny odds!
