The Overwatch League’s New York Excelsior are heading to New York for a homecoming weekend event from Nov. 30 to Dec. 2—and for the weekend, they’re adding an honorary member to the team, DJ and producer Zedd.
NYXL announced Zedd’s appearance at the event on Twitter this morning. “We’re excited to announce that we’re hosting the honorary 11th member of the NYXL squad, Zedd, this Saturday at our Shop&LAN,” NYXL wrote. “Come game and watch the Zedd/Mano duo we’ve been waiting for. Who says dreams don’t come true?”

The homecoming weekend kicks off on Nov. 30 with New York players facing off against NYXL in friendly matches. On Dec. 1, NYXL will play Philadelphia Fusion for a showmatch—backed by Zedd for support. On Sunday, NYXL will take on Los Angeles Valiant in the final showmatch of the weekend. Following each showmatch, top players from the fan LAN will be able to play in matches against the visiting teams.
Though initially Zedd might sound like a weird appearance at an esports event, he’s actually a pretty dedicated gamer. When he’s not DJing, he’s playing games and streaming on Twitch—and now he’s declared his allegiance to NYXL.
The NYXL Shop&LAN is open every Friday through Sunday in Brooklyn, New York from Nov. 16 to Dec. 23. New gear drops frequently, with the space acting as a community center of sorts for Overwatch fans in the city.
