With over two weeks before stage three kicks off, Toronto Defiant have signed Daniel “Gods” Graeser and Normunds “sharyk” Faterins from its academy team Montreal Rebellion as its new tank duo.

Gods first began competing in 2016 under Luminosity Gaming as a DPS player. Later in the year, he joined NRG Esports and played on Team USA in the Overwatch World Cup. With the creation of the Overwatch League, Gods joined Gladiators Legion, the academy team of Los Angeles Gladiators, and stayed with the team for a full year as a flex player.

Sharyk carries an extensive record competing in Overwatch and began competing in 2015. The Latvian tank player has since played for Team Russia in the 2017 Overwatch World Cup and has competed for a number of teams in the European Contenders region such as EUnited and Winstrike Team.

The duo joined Second Wind together in early March before moving on to play for Toronto’s academy team Montreal Rebellion a month later. Most recently, the team locked down a shared third place in the first season of the eastern Overwatch Contenders North America division.

Stage two of the Overwatch League wrapped up earlier in the month with San Francisco Shock’s upset over Vancouver Titans, who remained undefeated up until their loss to the Californian team in the stage finals.

The Overwatch League returns for stage three with the match between San Francisco Shock and Atlanta Reign on June 6 at 6pm CT. Toronto Defiant will play their first game of the stage the following day in their match against Paris Eternal.
