The Winter Wonderland update broke Blizzard World—it’s since been disabled in Overwatch

Blizzard World’s spawn rooms are now jail.

Overwatch players transported to Blizzard World—now snow-dusted and decorated for the holidays—found themselves trapped in the map’s spawn rooms indefinitely. Players just had to wait it out or exit the map, which has consequences in Overwatch’s competitive mode. Blizzard has since disabled the map because of the game-breaking bug.

Both teams aren’t always trapped in the spawn point, which means the freed roster is able to capture Blizzard World’s point before the other team is disconnected due to inactivity for not leaving the spawn room. Players stuck in spawn are left to do the only reasonable thing to do in spawn: Spray wildly and hit things.

“Due to the impact of the issue, we have temporarily disabled Blizzard World in all regions on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One while we troubleshoot,” an Overwatch representative wrote on the game’s forum. “We don’t have an ETA to share right now for when Blizzard World will again be playable, but this is currently our top priority and we will be sure to provide updates in this thread and on Twitter via @BlizzardCS as they become available.”

Overwatch players have been posting clips of the bug to Reddit, showcasing the mass confusion between the two teams. “What is happening?” a player pleaded to another in the outside world. “What does it look like, other team?”

The map’s been disabled across all modes, including Quick Play, Competitive Play, and the Arcade. Blizzard hasn’t said when the map will be added back into the game.
