Shanghai Dragons players Fang “Undead” Chao and Liu “Xushu” Junjie will be fined by the organization for sharing an Overwatch account.
The organization announced the disciplinary action on Twitter, noting that it will cooperate with Blizzard is enacting further punishment should it be deemed necessary. Undead was found to have used Xushu’s alternate account to queue up with Xushu on one occasion, as their account rankings prevented them from playing together in Overwatch’s Competitive Play mode.

They played three rounds before management stepped in and stopped them.
Shanghai Dragons is fining each player 3,000 RMB (around $450) for their actions, as well as issuing each player a “serious warning of game play codes,” Shanghai Dragons management said. The Shanghai Dragons’ team leader who stopped the behavior will also be punished for not preventing this type of behavior.
“As professional game players, they should have acted as role models and abided by Blizzard’s account use codes and relevant regulations,” management wrote. “Now, we sincerely apologize to the gamer community for the negative impact caused by this account sharing between Undead and Xushu.”
Blizzard has not yet acknowledged the issue.
In November, Blizzard issued a 30-match suspension to Philadelphia Fusion Overwatch League player Su-min “Sado” Kim after allegations of past account boosting. As it should, Blizzard is taking player behavior seriously for the Overwatch League.
