Pornhub users are still really into Overwatch porn.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who’s been on the internet over the past year. Overwatch ranked 13th in Pornhub’s most searched for terms in 2017—two slots lower than it was last year.
Overwatch nabbed the top spot on Brazil’s top searches list, just as it was last year. Overwatch hentai, however, has enjoyed a 842 percent increase—and sex therapist Dr. Laurie Betito has a theory as to why.

“The world is moving at a pace the likes we have never seen before and as such, stress levels have gone way up,” Dr. Betito said in the Pornhub blog post. “Hentai is a way for people to disconnect from reality and delve into the world of total fantasy, forgetting about all the stresses that real life brings. Good, bad or indifferent, hentai is an escape, not much different than seeing a sci-fi movie at a local theater for a couple of hours of mindless distraction.”
As for the top video game characters searched for in 2017, Overwatch heroes reign supreme. Six Overwatch heroes made the top list. D.Va, Mercy, and Tracer are the top three video game characters searched for, with Widowmaker, Sombra, and Pharah following closely.
Other video game characters that made the list include Mortal Kombat’s Mileena, Legend of Zelda’s Zelda, and Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft.
Overwatch’s initial appeal on Pornhub began immediately after the game entered its public beta in 2016, when searches increased by 321 percent. Searches have decreased into 2017, but it’s clear that Overwatch is still popular with Pornhub users.
Surprisingly, none of Overwatch’s men made the list this year, despite the releases of Doomfist, hipster Hanzo, and hot Genji.
