Anime fans, it’s time to redownload Overwatch 2 again—there’s another new collaboration on the way.
Following both One Punch Man and Cowboy Bebop, the newest collab features the immensely popular My Hero Academia characters across five skins for OW2 heroes. The news was announced at Tokyo Game Show today, even after the game already had a collab with World of Warcraft this season.
The collaborative effort features Reinhardt as All Might, Juno as Uravity, Tracer as the main character Deku, Reaper as Tomura Shigaraki, and Kiriko as Himiko Toga. With one tank, two DPS, and two support heroes, you can even field your own My Hero Academia squad.
“The legendary characters from U.A. High School are making their way to Future Earth,” Blizzard said. “Will you stand with the heroes and battle injustice or side with the villains and create endless chaos?”
Blizzard also released a trailer for the collab, which can be seen below, showing off the heroes as the heroes from the game. Heroes as heroes? Well, yes, because My Hero Academia features heroes just like OW2.
My Hero Academia started as a manga and became an animated series in 2014. The show revolves around Izuku Midoriya, a boy born without a Quirk (superpowers), who has powers gifted to him by All Might, and then enlists in a school for superheroes while taking on the hero name Deku.
If you’re interested in these skins, it’s time to save up some cash and buy some OW Coins, because collab skins are always on the pricey side. Skins usually go for around $20 individually, with a bundle including all collab cosmetics for $60 or more. But, apparently, previous bundles have sold well because OW2 continues to partner up with big IP such as this one.
The My Hero Academia collaboration goes live in OW2 on Oct. 17.
