During the opening ceremony at BlizzCon 2018 in Anaheim, California, Blizzard revealed a new Overwatch hero—just like many were expecting. The hero is a DPS hero, the next since Wrecking Ball was released in Overwatch in late July.
Her kit includes a shotgun, dynamite, and a hero call-in: Bob. It’s the first time this sort of mechanic has been used in Overwatch. Game director Jeff Kaplan said she’s a hero that needs super-high mechanical skill, which, naturally, we all have. Ashe will be highlighted during the Overwatch: What’s Next panel later today.

“Introducing Ashe—leader of the Deadlock Gang and rebellious gunslinger who’s not afraid to get her hands dirty,” Blizzard tweeted after the announcement.
Blizzard began teasing new content in Overwatch last week when the payload on Dorado opened up—something was stolen from inside it, but it hasn’t been clear who or what did the deed. Until now, that is: During the Overwatch cinematic reveal, Reunion, Blizzard showed that a mysterious robot, Echo, was inside the payload this whole time.
BlizzCon 2018 is ongoing from Nov. 2 to 3, celebrating all things Blizzard. More Overwatch announcements are expected throughout the weekend. The Overwatch World Cup finals will also conclude, too—and a new champion will be crowned.
