Jonathan “DreamKazper” Sanchez has been removed from the Overwatch League’s Boston Uprising following allegations of sexual misconduct.
The Overwatch League organization owned by New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft announced on Twitter the termination of DreamKazper’s contract. “The Boston Uprising has terminated the contract of [DreamKazper],” the organization wrote. Boston Uprising declined to comment further on the matter.
A 14-year-old high school freshman accused DreamKazper of initiating an inappropriate online sexual relationship with her. The young woman alleged that DreamKazper knew about her age and still solicited sexually explicit images from her through Snapchat, FaceTime, and direct messages on Twitter.
She posted detailed documentation of the relationship online.
“After talking with close friends on the subject over the course of a month, I realized what a power dynamic it was,” she wrote. “I’m stepping forward to hope this doesn’t happen to anyone in the future. DreamKazper should have known better to engage in explicit activity with someone seven years younger than him, especially when he represents a team. He used his social status to blind and take advantage of me.”
Another young women spoke to Dot Esports on the condition of anonymity with similar accusations against DreamKazper. The 16-year-old told Dot Esports that DreamKazper had purchased her a plane ticket to visit him in California. When she canceled the trip, she said he requested nude photographs that she owed him for the trouble. The woman alleged DreamKazper said he was 18, not 21. Dot Esports has confirmed details of the story with the woman involved.
The 16-year-old high school student lives in Georgia, where the age of consent is 16. DreamKazper currently resides in California for the Overwatch League, where the age of consent is 18. Possession of child pornography in California is a felony.
The Overwatch League has not returned Dot Esports request for comment.
