The rifts in Fortnite: Battle Royale instantly became a fan-favorite feature when they were added to the game at the start of season five.
These portals are scattered all over the Fortnite map. When a player jumps into one, they’re teleported up into the sky where they can either skydive down or slowly descend using their glider.
Make sure to use them wisely, however—most rifts disappear a few seconds after they’re used. So if you’re playing Duos or Squads, you’ll need to coordinate your rift jumps with your teammates so you don’t leave someone behind.
When someone uses one of these portals, you’ll hear a loud noise in-game, indicating that you should make sure nobody is skydiving on top of your location.
But where can you find these awesome rifts? Reddit user Z444Z has mapped out some of them, and we spotted new ones as well.
It’s important to note that the rifts won’t always spawn in the same location every game. But these are some of the spots where Fortnite players have been able to consistently find rifts.
Paradise Palms and Desert
This location is the area that’s most heavily-populated with rifts. A bunch of portals can be found in Paradise Palms and other nearby desert areas.
Wailing Woods
An infinite rift always spawns in the the bunker under Wailing Woods. Go to the west side of the bunker to find it on the lower floor.
The Block
Two rifts may spawn northwest of The Block, near the NOMS sign.
Motel
There are a few rifts spread around the Motel west of Paradise Palms.
Pleasant Park
Players can find a few rift spawns in most of the mountains that surround Pleasant Park.
Viking Village
The Viking Village on the mountain close to Snobby Shores also has a few rifts that players can use.
