Immortalsannounced today that they will be adding a new member to their 2017 League of Legends coaching staff. David “Hermes” Tu, former NRG Esports and Renegades coach, will be joining Immortals for 2017 as the strategic coach, and is the first new member for the 2017 staff.

Hermes has worked on teams such as Team EnVyUs, NRG Esports and Renegades in the NA LCS, so he has a lot to bring to the table. Immortals has dominated the past two regular seasons, but struggled throughout the playoffs, having dropped in the semifinals of each split. Hermes will be joining forces with current Immortals coach Robert Yip, who focuses on the performance side of things, so all aspects will be covered.

Whilst Immortals have yet to release their full team roster for 2017, they are set to make more changes. This announcement is Immortals “building a strong competitive foundation,” and is definitely in the team’s best interests for the new year. All we can do now is wait and see who will be on their new team, and what other changes they could possibly make to their already changing infrastructure.
