One of these teams took home Epicenter: Moscow, another ran through Northern Arena Montreal, and the other two are looking for some big upsets to move on in the second season of ELEAGUE.
It looks to be all chalk that will run the table here, however Team EnVyUs and Fnatic could have a chance at the second spot over OpTic just because of their advantages on many of the ELEAGUE maps.
With that said, here are my predictions for who will win out of this group:
Day 1
OpTic Gaming (1-0) defeats Fnatic (0-1)
- Score: 16 – 10
Dignitas (1-0) defeats EnVyUs (0-1)
- Score: 16 – 4
Dignitas (2-0) defeats OpTiC Gaming (1-1)
- Score: 16 – 12
Absolutely no surprises here, as Dignitas will most likely lock up the first spot out of Group D. They are just too good for a top-five team in the world, and they will avenge their losses in Brazil during the ESL Pro League Season 4 Finals.
Now here comes the interesting day:
Day 2
EnVyUs (1-1) 2 – 0 Fnactic (0-2)
- Game 1 Score: 16 – 9
- Game 2 Score: 16 – 5
EnVyUs (2-1) 2 -1 OpTic Gaming (1-2)
- Game 1 Score: 16 – 9
- Game 2 Score: 11 – 16
- Game 3 Score: 16 – 14
In a match that is sure to draw in the CoD fanboy hype along with a tight contest, nV will defeat OpTic in the decider match to take the second spot. I’m basing this solely off of nV’s better matchups on many of the OpTic’s stronger maps, as well as Kenny “kennyS” Schrub’s clutch ability with the AWP.
Who do you think will come out of Group D?
