NBA 2K25 brings all the familiar features fans have come to know and love, including licensed NBA and WNBA athletes, both past and present. However, there are also major additions, including a new dribble engine for the first time in 15 years.

If you can’t wait to play NBA 2K25, we’ve got all the details you need on the release date and platforms the title is available on.

The release date for NBA 2K25 is slightly confusing, as the global release is set for Sept. 6. However, by purchasing any edition of the game, you qualify for early access, which begins on Sept. 4, an offer that remains until the full global release.

Like many other titles, we’re expecting an NBA 2K25 to have staggered release, meaning the game will be released at midnight local time on Sept. 4. Theoretically, this means players in New Zealand can play the game first due to time zone differences.

The countdown below is set for 00:00 CT on Sept. 4. If developer 2 K provides any further details, we’ll update this article accordingly.

What platforms is NBA 2K25 releasing on?

NBA 2K25 will launch across all consoles and be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

However, there are differences between titles on different platforms, as only PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC players will have access to the New Gen features like ProPLAY, MyCAREER, and MyTEAM. NBA 2K25 has also been optimized for Steam Deck.

Crossplay is also limited in NBA 2K25 and is only available for players on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
