The Infinaut is one of the lesser-known characters from the Marvel universe, but is easily one of the biggest and most exciting cards players secure on their rise through Marvel Snap‘s card series. With this, knowing the best decks where they can be included may help you make your way to the top of the game’s ranks.
Here’s all you have to know about The Infinaut in Marvel Snap.
The Infinaut card abilities in Marvel Snap
All The Infinaut’s card text says is, “If you played a card last turn, you can’t play this.” It seems simple, but it can make the card difficult to play unless you build your deck right. Its ability is its biggest hindrance. But there are ways to work around it in the digital card battler.
The Infinaut strategy in Marvel Snap
The Infinaut’s card ability means you’ll likely be trying to add extra energy or fill out your The Infinaut deck with other cards that will benefit from skipping turn five so you can play it on turn six—or using other cards that will let you get it on-board without having to play it at all.
This Marvel Snap card is truly all about the 11 cards around it because you can’t solely rely on its ability and power to get it into play.
Best combo synergy with The Infinaut in Marvel Snap
Several cards can play The Infinaut (or its power number) without skipping a turn by way of their card ability. These cards include:
- Zero
- Lockjaw
- Lady Sif
- Jubilee
- Dracula
- Hela
Each of these cards can get The Infinaut into play. With Lockjaw, you can play any low-cost cards onto its location to get The Infinaut from your deck. Jubilee will do the same thing as a four-energy drop, and Zero is a one-drop that will remove The Infinaut’s ability, to allow you to play it on turn six with no issue.
Dracula is interesting because you can manipulate your deck to have The Infinaut be the last card in your hand. This means that Dracula, which takes the power of a card you discard from your hand at the very end of the game, will get its 20-Power.
Hela is the same in a Discard deck. If you discard The Infinaut, you can play Hela on turn six to play every card you’ve discarded onto random locations. You can ensure The Infinaut is discarded by playing Lady Sif once it’s in your hand.
The best Infinaut Decks in Marvel Snap
InSheNaut
InSheNaut is one of the meta decks where The Infinaut can be used. Here, it’s all about using The Infinaut and She-Hulk combo to produce massive Power on at least two locations while building up the early and mid-game by using High Evolutionary’s creations.
The Evolved card versions made by High Evolutionary revolve around two mechanics: Inflicting negative Power on your opponent’s cards and conserving energy. Cyclops is the main catalyst of dealing negative Power to your opponent’s units through conserving energy, while Misty Knight and Shocker provide the utility effects when you have unspent energy in turns. As for Hulk, it is a potential massive Power source that can also single-handedly take over a location since you can stack Power in it every turn that you have unspent energy.
Nebula and Sunspot build up your early game. As for Magik, it can extend the game to turn seven, which is vital for the InSheNaut combo. Cap the deck with Caeira to protect one and six-Cost cards, and Leech to remove your opponent’s card abilities.
Hela Tribunal
The Infinaut can also be used in a Hela Tribunal deck. Here, the focus is to pull off the famous Hela combo with MODOK which is hidden under Invisible Woman. This strategy allows you to call multiple high-Cost and high-Power units all at once by the end of the game which can, most of the time, outpower your opponent in the locations.
Hela calls all of your discarded units to random locations. This effect combined with M.O.D.O.K., which can discard all of your cards in the hand can be a powerful combo assuming that it is hidden under Invisible Woman. Once you pull this off, you can call all your discarded units regardless of their costs.
Aside from The Infinaut, some of the lategame finishers that can be called by Hela are Blob, Onslaught, The Living Tribunal, and Giganto. As for Iron Man, it can double the current Power of the location where it is placed.
Crystal lets both players draw a card. Finish the deck with Iron Lad, which copies the text of the top card of your deck while maintaining its four-Cost, six-Power stat line.
Hyper Aggro War Machine
With the debut of War Machine, The Infinaut’s ability can now be disregarded since the former can make you play cards unstoppable until the end of the next turn.
Aside from The Infinaut, the other cards with play restriction abilities that are the best targets for War Machine’s effect are Ebony Maw, Crossbones, and Cull Obsidian. The Angela package with Kitty Pryde and Jeff the Baby Land Shark is also good as they all allow the play/bounce to move strategy which can set up an alternative potential Power source from the early to mid-game.
Armor can be added for more protection, especially to prevent your Power sources from the likes of Shang-Chi and Killmonger. As for Hope Summers, she gives you bonus energy as long as you play a card in the same location, while Omega Red gives bonus Power when its location is winning. Zabu, on the other hand, lessens the cost of your four-Cost cards by one.
How to counter The Infinaut decks in Marvel Snap
Shang-Chi is The Infinaut’s biggest foe, as he is for just about any big card in Marvel Snap. Shang-Chi is a safe bet in just about any deck due to his ability, so if The Infinaut has you worried, always bring Shang-Chi with you to the battle.
The Infinaut’s biggest weakness is that it can only really win one lane, and not even that is guaranteed. If you hold down the other two lanes while expecting a big Infinaut play, you could still very easily win the game.
The Infinaut decks’ current state in the meta
Both the InSheNaut and Hela Tribunal decks have proven their steady place in the meta for a long time already. They are both predictable when it comes to the required setups to make their offensive engines successful. Still, both strategies can produce big numbers which may, most of the time, outpower your opponent.
We have yet to determine how the Hyper Aggro War Machine deck works in the current meta. On paper, though, it is a powerful strategy since the possibility of playing multiple massive Power sources can now be possible with the help of War Machine.
