Marvel and NetEase’s new six-vs-six Marvel Rivals shooter takes inspiration from Overwatch, but there’s a huge difference as we take control of heroes from the Marvel universe and battle it out.
The official Marvel Rivals trailer got people excited, but the closed alpha dialed up the hype to 100. We finally know for certain know who is included in the game—along with rumored heroes via a data mine—and even more characters are likely to come in the future as the game expands.

Twenty-one heroes have been confirmed in Marvel Rivals. Nineteen of the heroes were playable during the closed alpha test, with the two newest heroes in Venom and Warlock getting announced during the Playstation State of Play showcase.
Here’s the list of every confirmed playable hero in Marvel Rivals so far, as of the PlayStation State of Play showcase on May 30:

There are some obvious omissions from this list of heroes, including comic book and pop culture heavyweights like Wolverine, Captain America, Black Widow, and others, but you can expect to see these big-name characters added to the game over time as seasonal additions.
Many of these heroes are capable of team-up attacks, which grants the heroes teaming up special abilities or buffs for a limited time. Both of the recently announced additions, Venom and Warlock, will also have the ability to team up.
Hero classes in Marvel Rivals and what they mean
Like Overwatch, each hero is given a class in Marvel Rivals. All heroes fall under one of three classes: Vanguards (Tanks), Strategists (Support), and Duelists (DPS).
