Earlier today, the semifinals of the European League Championship Series (LCS) playoffs for the League of Legends 2016 Summer Split began in an exhilarating fashion. Action kicked off today with the second-seeded Splyce (9-6-3) taking on the fourth-seeded H2k-Gaming (7-6-5).
Here is what happened in the first semifinal match of the EU LCS playoffs:
Game One
Splyce started the first game by earning first blood, but from that point on, this game was all about H2k, earning the lead in kills at 13-4, and more impressively, capturing 10 towers while preventing Splyce from destroying a single H2k tower.
H2k top laner Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu played well as Ekko, going 5/1/5, while mid laner Yoo “Ryu” Sang-ook also contributed a 4/1/6 scoreline as Taliyah. It’s also worth pointing out that H2k’s jungler Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski played a perfect game, going 0/0/11 as Rek’Sai.

After getting decimated in the opening game of this series, Splyce was able to bounce back with a convincing win of their own. Splyce was able to outkill H2k 13-2, while also winning the battle of turrets 8-3.
Splyce AD Carry Kasper “Kobbe” Kobberup went 6/0/4 with 429 CS as Jhin, while mid laner Chres “Sencux” Laursen also played well, going 5/0/6 as Taliyah.

Game Three
This series continued in back-and-forth fashion as H2k was able to respond to their game two loss with a dominating win in game three. In just about 42 minutes, H2k was able to end the game with a commanding 13-3 lead in kills, 11-2 lead in towers taken and just under a 20k gold lead.
For H2k, Odoamne once again led the game in kills, going 6/2/5 as Gangplank. Ryu was able to go 4/0/6 as Vladimir, while H2k ADC Konstantinos “FORG1VEN” Tzortziou went 2/0/7 on Ashe.

Game Four
With their season on the line, Splyce was able to tip the seesaw back in their favor to force a decisive game five. Splyce needed just 38 minutes to win this game with their backs against the wall, holding a 22-11 kill advantage and a 9-2 lead in towers destroyed.
Splyce’s top laner Martin “Wunder” Hansen definitely was the player of the game, going 9/3/6 as Gnar. Kobbe also put on a show as Sivir, producing a 8/2/9 scoreline with 417 CS.

Game Five
In a winner-take-all situation, Splyce took an early lead and never looked back. Despite an almost devastating teamfight loss at Baron, Splyce bounced back immediately after basing for health, grabbed the Baron, and won the game just a few minutes later.
Once again, Wunder was the player of the game, dominating H2k from start to finish. Wunder had an 8/0/2 performance on Gnar, practically winning the game by himself time and time again, turning fights in Splyce’s favor.
