After the most recent LoLdle quotes, I expected today’s LoLdle quote to be a breeze. But boy, was I wrong because this League of Legends champion didn’t come to mind when I read this quote.
So, if you’re in a pickle and can’t figure out which League champion this is for the Sept. 16 LoLdle quote, read on.
Who says, ”Bearded Lady, Nagakabouros, names don’t matter! Action does.” in LoL?
The LoLdle quote on Sept. 16 is, “Bearded Lady, Nagakabouros, names don’t matter! Action does.” The League champion who says this line is Illaoi.
Coming into today’s LoLdle quote, I wasn’t sure what to expect as we haven’t really had any mega-challenging quotes. But today’s quote felt impossible. When I read this clue, I immediately thought of the bearded dwarves in World of Warcraft, and I realized that I’d been playing too much WoW and was in deep trouble. However, I kept looking at the word “Nagakabouros” because I felt it was the only way to figure out who this champion was. After breaking down the etymology (thanks to Harry Potter and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood), I was able to take a wild guess. And luckily, it was right when I picked Illaoi. Pop culture knowledge for the win!
Illaoi is the Kraken Priestess who worships Nagakabouros, a spirit god entity worshipped in Bilgewater that looks like a Kraken. The god is also known by her monikers: The Bearded Lady, the Great Kraken, the Sea Queen, and the Mother Serpent. Illaoi says this particular quote while she’s moving.
According to the League stats from U.GG, she has been moving quite a bit on the Rift. In fact, she has a 5.2 percent pick rate with a whopping 52.23 percent win rate in the top lane in Patch 14.18. So, if you’re a top lane main wanting to switch up from the meta champions, try Illaoi. Although I’m not a top lane main, after reading more on Illaoi’s lore, I feel like I want to be because she’s kind of cool.
And if you struggled with today’s LoLdle quote, don’t stress—I think we were all in the same boat. Hopefully, tomorrow’s LoLdle will be just as head-scratching because the mental gymnastics I went through to get this answer were really fun(NY).
