Rogue’s new roster has enjoyed a solid start to the 2019 LEC Summer Split so far. The team has matched its win count from the Spring Split with its second victory of the summer today after taking down Vitality with a Sona-Taric composition.
Vitality had a rough time for a majority of this match—they didn’t seem to be on the same page for all 35 minutes. This was reflected perfectly when Vitality decided to dive top laner Kim “Profit” Jun-hyung with four players.
Profit seemed dead to rights as four Vitality players came in for an easy kill. But Rogue’s top laner refused to roll over and die. With some fancy footwork and a Stopwatch in hand, Profit survived long enough to get multiple Vitality players low. Afterward, Paweł “Woolite” Pruski timed his teleport perfectly alongside Oskar “Vander” Bogdan’s Taric ultimate to save their teammate’s life.
This was an incredible outplay from Rogue and set the tone for the rest of the game. This lineup’s synergy looks much cleaner compared to last split, where the old roster struggled throughout the entire regular season. The young talent that Rogue cultivated in its Academy team has shown some great promise over the past two weeks.
Vitality, on the other hand, haven’t looked at all like the team we’ve watched over the past few splits. The team’s coordination hasn’t been at the same level and the results speak to that. Vitality will have to sharpen up quickly, though, because they play G2 Esports tomorrow in the last game of the LEC weekend.
