If you were a fan of the Watch Rewards system implemented by Riot Games in 2018, then you’ll be pleased to know that it’s returning this year.
Watch Rewards is a system that allows players to earn Icons, Emotes, XP and Blue Essence during the regular League of Legends season. In order to earn these rewards, players will need to watch live games or VODs on watch.lolesports.com.
Players can start gaining rewards during the Spring Split, which begins on different dates across the globe. The Spring Split begins for Brazil on Jan. 12, then on Jan. 18 for Europe and Oceania. The league starts on Jan. 19 for players in Latin America, Japan, and Turkey. North America is the last region to start its Spring Split, which will kick off on Jan. 26.
Spring Split watch missions will initially appear on Jan. 11 and they’ll run through April 23. Access to watch missions will be given in waves on a region-by-region basis. In order to get started and begin earning rewards, players will need to log in at watch.lolesports.com/rewards and make sure their account is appropriately connected.
Once you’ve logged in, you’ll be able to see available missions and earn progress toward those missions for each game you watch. If a mission requires you to watch an official League match, you’ll need to spectate at least 10 minutes of the game before receiving credit.
Riot said players can expect to see tremendous focus on growing the watch.lolesports.com experience with new features made specifically for League. The developer also encouraged players to leave feedback about the system on Reddit, social media, and the official forums.
