After a grueling summer split, our top six LCS squads converged for North America’s League of Legends crown in the Summer Championship.
This edition of the LCS summer playoffs was a little more special: Not only did teams play for a spot at this year’s League World Championship, but it was the last LCS of its kind before the subregion merger saw South American squads join the fold for 2025.
Who will fly the flag at Worlds 2024? Will Liquid continue its undefeated form from the regular season? By early September, all was answered. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2024 LCS Summer Championship.

LCS Summer Championship 2024 format and teams
The top six teams from the LCS Summer Split—Team Liquid, Cloud9, FlyQuest, Dignitas, 100 Thieves, and NRG—all qualified for the Summer Championship, determining who will represent the region at Worlds 2024.
The top two were given a first-round bye in the upper bracket, while third to sixth from the regular season opened affairs on Aug. 17. Each series was a best-of-five with teams given an extra life via the double-elimination playoff bracket. The two teams that qualified for the upper bracket final booked their spot at Worlds, while the third was decided by which team fought through the lower bracket to its respective final.
The action wasn’t over once the LCS reps for Worlds are decided though, with the final three playing out the bracket to determine who took home the 2024 trophy as North America’s best League team. Here are the standings for the LCS Summer Championship 2024, with the top three booking their tickets to Worlds 2024.
