The European League of Legends Championship Series is the game’s main esports tournament in the region.
The finals is the culminating event of the Summer Split, where the best teams face off against each other for a chance to win large cash prizes (200,000 euros), championship titles, and a chance to represent their region at the 2018 World Championship in South Korea.
This year, the summer finals and third place match will be taking place at the Palacio Vistalegre in Madrid, Spain from Sept. 8 to 9 from 8am CT.
Stream
Just like with regular League broadcasts, all the action from the EU LCS summer finals and third place match will be streamed on Riot Games’ Twitch account with pre-game and post-game shows going live before and after the main event.
Teams
Four teams will be taking part in matches at the summer finals.
Team Vitality and Misfits Gaming will be up against one another for the third-place crown while Fnatic and Schalke 04 will play in the main event, the finals, a day later.

System
At the finals, teams will play against each other in a best-of-five format.
The winning team between Schlake 04 and Fnatic gains first seed entry into the 2018 World Championship. The team with the most championship points from both the Spring and Summer Split also head to Worlds as the second seed for the EU LCS.
If Team Vitality win their third place match and Schalke lose, Vitality will go to Worlds as the second seed. If Vitalty lose their match, Schalke will go to Worlds regardless of results.
