The LPL lost one of its biggest English-speaking personalities today when Indiana “Froskurinn” Juniper Black announced that she’ll join the EU LCS broadcast team next spring.

“This transition has been a year in the making, but it isn’t the first time I’ve flirted with the idea of joining the EU LCS,” Froskurinn said. “The allure of the broadcast and development resources, as well as the calibre of on-air and behind camera talent have always been a North Star.”

Froskurinn has been a pivotal figure in the LPL, casting a lot of the matches on the English streams throughout her career. She’s no stranger to the EU LCS scene, however—Froskurinn originally was a coach for Team Dignitas EU in 2015.

Since she hasn’t officially joined the EU LCS team yet, though, Froskurinn will be representing the LPL one last time at this year’s World Championship.

Royal Never Give Up, Invictus Gaming, and EDward Gaming will look to take the title this year in what’s arguably the strongest showing we’ve seen from the LPL in World Championship history.

Maybe Froskurinn will get to see an LPL side win their first World Championship next month before joining the EU LCS broadcast team. It feels like that’d be a good way to go out.
