There are two kinds of locked doors in Lethal Company. These are doors that are unlocked using a single-use key or secure doors unlocked via the Terminal. Here is a summary of how to unlock all doors in Lethal Company:

  • Standard door: Hold E to open. Doesn’t require a key to open.
  • Secure door: Find the unique identification number on the mechanical door in person or on the monitor and input the two-digit code into the Terminal to close or open the secure door.
  • Locked door: Requires key or Lockpicker to open. You can find a key as random scrap that can either be sold at the Company Building or consumed after a single use to unlock a locked door. Use the scroll wheel to select the key in your inventory and press E to unlock the locked door. Locked doors can lead to dead ends, more loot, and new areas of the Facility.

Luckily, you don’t have to learn anything new when jumping to a do a job on a different moon. All Lethal Company maps feature the exact same types of doors.

Simply follow this step-by-step on the Terminal computer if you want to unlock any secure doors that your teammates come across:

  1. Go up to the Terminal and click “E” to interact.
  2. Type in “Other” as a command.
  3. Next, type “View Monitor.”
  4. Put in “Switch” as the next command.
  5. Either type in the teammate’s username who is close to the secure door you want to unlock or continue to enter “Switch” until you find the player you’re looking for.
  6. You will see a letter and digit code on the monitor, close to the player you selected.
  7. Enter the letter and digit code (i.e., “C4” or “B3”) into the Terminal to unlock the secure door your teammate is close to.
  8. You’ll know when it’s correct when “BROADCASTED SPECIAL CODE” appears.
Tip: Designate someone to monitor your team inside the ship

Use the Walkie-talkie to communicate with the player on the ship. They can unlock any secure doors for you, teleport corpses to avoid fines, and inform the team of any nearby monsters inside the Facility or close to the Home Base.

The two-digit code for the secure doors is visible inside the Facility (in the top corner of the door) or on the Home Base main monitor (if the person you’re monitoring is standing close to it). Each door has its own unique code to it. These can hold hostile monsters inside, so we recommend opening these secure doors last.

You can freely open and close this door now that you have the code for it. You can protect your teammates or leave them to the monster on the other side. The power is completely in your hands…

You can unlock secure doors as a solo player, although the process is much longer. You’ll need to find the two-digit code on the door in person and return to the Home Base to unlock the door. It is easier however to join a server or host with friends for a higher survival chance and to fulfil that Lethal Company curiosity. Each moon is as dangerous as the last, but if you work as a team, you can truly overcome any obstacle, including locked secure doors.

Unlike other doors in Lethal Company that are either already unlocked or require a key to open, the secure doors can only be opened on the outside. You will specifically need someone waiting in the ship and watching your every move, in case there is a secure door in play that you need to bypass.
