Topaz and Numby are a five-star sub-DPS in Honkai and thanks to their unique playstyle, they are a valuable asset to have. As a Fire unit, they follow the path of the Hunt, and while their primary role is a sub-DPS, Topaz and Numby also work as main damage dealers.

Thanks to their fast playstyle and constant follow-up attacks, they excel in dealing massive single-target damage, making them very good against bosses. To fully utilize their kit, you need to equip them with best Light Cones, good Relic and Planar Ornament sets, and level up their Traces.

Light Cones

A ton of options, take your pick. Image via HoYoverse

Light Cones are weapons in Honkai and every character needs them to deal big damage. Since Topaz and Numby follow the fast path of the Hunt, you can only give them Hunt Light Cones. Fortunately, Hunt Light Cones aren’t rare and Topaz and Numby have plenty of free-to-play options.

Here are the best Light Cones for Topaz and Numby:

  • Worrisome, Blissful (five-star)
  • Cruising in the Stellar Sea (five-star)
  • Swordplay (four-star)
  • Only Silence Remains (four-star)

Worrisome, Blissful is a five-star Light Cone, and as Topaz and Numby’s signature, it’s obviously their best in the slot. This Light Cone increases their CRIT Rate by 18 percent and their follow-up attack damage by 30 percent, which is a significant damage boost. Additionally, it applies two stacks to opponents which increases their CRIT damage by 12 percent.

Cruising in the Stellar Sea is a free five-star Light Cone you can get from Herta’s Shop by completing the Simulated Universe challenge. It’s a giant stat stick and a great alternative for free-to-play players. This Light Cone increases the CRIT Rate by eight percent and increases Crit Rate by an additional eight percent against opponents with half health. It also increases attack by 20 percent whenever you defeat an opponent for two turns, making it a powerful Light Cone to have.

Trace priority

Topaz and Numby is one of the best sub-DPS that dish out a ton of single-target damage. To maximize their damage potential, you should level them up to 80 and unlock all her Traces. Since most of their damage comes from follow-up attacks, you can ignore their basic attacks and focus on other abilities.

Here are the abilities you should prioritize:

  • Her Skill is your top priority because it’s your only source of damage, and it also increases the damage of all follow-up attacks by 25 percent.
  • Her Talent is equally important since it increases her own follow-up attack damage and advances Numby’s action forward by 50 percent.
  • Her Ultimate increases the follow-up attack damage by an additional 75 percent and Crit damage by 12.5 percent which makes her entire kit perfectly synchronized.

Relics and Planar Ornaments sets

If Light Cones are weapons that increase your damage, then Relics and Planar Ornaments are gear that boosts that damage even further. As a damage dealer who’s all about follow-up attacks, there’s only one option for Topaz and Numby.

Here are the best Relics and Planar Ornament sets for Topaz and Numby:

  • The Ashblazing Grand Duke (four-piece)
  • Inert Salsotto (two-piece)

The four-piece Ashblazing Grand Duke is a Relic set tailored for Topaz and Numby. It increases the follow-up attack damage by 20 percent, and whenever they use follow-up attacks their damage increases by an additional 48 percent for three turns.

The two-piece Inert Salsotto increases Topaz and Numby’s CRIT Rate by eight percent and their follow-up attack damage by 15 percent, making it a perfect match for Ashblazing Grand Duke. You can farm this set in World Six of the Simulated Universe.

Relic and Planar Ornament stats and substats

While getting proper Relics and Planar Ornaments is crucial, good stats and substats define them, and as damage dealers Topaz and Numby want only offensive stats.

Here are the main stats you should target:

  • Body: Crit damage or Crit Rate
  • Feet: Speed
  • Sphere: Fire damage
  • Rope: Atk Percent

Having a balanced Crit ratio is important for this build to work, and since Topaz and Numby is a Hunt character, you should aim for a lot of speed and attack as your substats.

Topaz and Numby best Eidolons

While most of their Eidolons are lackluster, if you have enough Stellar Jades you can always get their Eidolon one, which increases Crit damage and follow-up attack damage by 50 percent—a massive overall damage increase.
