Many Honkai: Star Rail players are wondering when they’ll be able to play Yukong, the character revealed before the game’s release, and what her playstyle will be. Leaks have already answered those questions.
This is a common occurrence with HoYoverse’s games; leaks will appear before every update, sometimes very early on, and Honkai: Star Rail is no exception. Now, the developer officially revealed Yukong and confirmed the leaked information from early May.

Yukong was officially revealed as an upcoming character before the game’s initial launch. She was also revealed to wield the Imaginary element and follow the Harmony Path, which designates buffers.
She’s the Head of the Sky-Faring Commission in Xianzhou Luofu and a former pilot with a “gentle yet seasoned and authoritative” personality, according to the developer. Here is everything we know about the character.
Yukong’s profile in Honkai: Star Rail
Yukong is a four-star Imaginary character from the Path of Harmony, wielding a bow as her main weapon. She’ll be highly valuable because the game only has one Imaginary character at the moment, Welt, while many enemies are weak to this Element.
Additionally, she’ll be easier to obtain than Welt and the next Imaginary characters since they’ll all be of five-star rarity.
Yukong’s abilities in Honkai: Star Rail
The developer revealed Yukong’s abilities in an official blogpost on June 26. It wasn’t a surprise for players who discovered previous leaks, but they could still see the ability animations for the first time.
- Normal Attack: Arrowslinger. Deals Imaginary damage to a single enemy. It’ll be equal to 130 percent of Yukong’s Attack.
- Skill: Emboldening Salvo. Yukong gains up to two stacks of Roaring Bowstrings, which increases the Attack of allies. One stack is removed after every turn, except when she gets one more by using her Skill.
- Ultimate: Diving Kestrel. Deals Imaginary damage equal to 361 percent of her Attack to a target. Also increases Crit Rate by 27 percent and Crit Damage by 62 percent to all allies if Yukong has Roaring Bowstrings still active.
- Passive: Seven Layers, One Arrow. Yukong deals Imaginary damage equal to 75 percent of her Attack to a target. Also increases Toughness reduction damage of the attack by 100 percent. It can be triggered every two turns.
- Technique: Chasing the Wind. Yukong can sprint for 20 seconds outside of combat. When entering the fight, she’ll also gain Movement Speed, as well as Two stacks of Roaring Bowstrings.
While her abilities are now officially revealed, the numbers have yet to be confirmed. They originate from leaks that date back to May 4. Although Yukong will use the Imaginary element, her abilities feature a blue color as her main aesthetic theme that is more reminiscent of another element.
Yukong’s release date in Honkai: Star Rail
Yukong is rumored to release in Patch 1.1’s second Phase, according to leaks. She’d be the four-star featured alongside Silver Wolf as the five-star character in Warps. The developer strengthened the rumors by revealing her Character Preview at the same time as other content set to release with the second Phase of Patch 1.1, although it has yet to confirm she’ll be part of it.
According to the Character Warp countdown, which indicates when another five-star character will replace Silver Wolf, the update could arrive around June 28. Players who want to secure the Quantum character should do so very fast since she’ll be replaced by Luocha soon, the upcoming five-star character who’ll wield the Imaginary element and follow the Path of Abundance.
