Shaman gets a new epic spell in Kobolds and Catacombs with a new type of evolution.
Unstable Evolution is a one-cost spell that evolves one minion into a minion that costs one more mana. The trick about this card is that it’s repeatable in a turn. This means that you can keep evolving a minion into a one mana stronger minion as long as you have mana that turn.
This can be an incredibly strong card if you need to find lethal deep in a game when you have 10 mana already or when you want to change a minion three times. It can become a bit of a gambit if you try to keep evolving but end up with a weaker card than before. Sometimes you just have to know when to stop.
You do not have to cast this only on one minion, if you have a board with multiple minions you can evolve each minion once or a few times depending on your mana. Though the true strength lies in evolving one minion from a very low cost to a very high cost.
This card will most likely see play in constructed. Since Evolve Shaman is a popular deck currently, Unstable Evolution fits right into it. Since this card doesn’t apply to all minions and can be used on one specific minion, however, it can see play in non-evolve themed decks as a card to use in the late game.
Kobolds and Catacombs will be released in December, you can pre-order your packs now to get a special card back.
