Ubisoft’s upcoming arena shooter, XDefiant, is making noise within the multiplayer gaming space. While it’s playable on current-gen consoles (except Nintendo Switch) and PC, you might be wondering if last-gen consoles get to enjoy Ubisoft’s new shooter.
Here’s everything we know about XDefiant coming to PlayStation 4.
Is XDefiant available on PlayStation 4?
XDefiant isn’t available on PlayStation 4 yet, but it will be soon. Although last-gen consoles have not been involved in beta testing for the game, XDefiant is expected to launch this summer for PS4 and Xbox One. The developer even confirmed the news with an X (formerly Twitter) post.
As tweeted by the XDefiant team on June 12, versions of the game for PS4 and Xbox One are “actively being worked on” and will be launched “as soon as they are ready.” An update on this development is expected after a few months.
Over its beta testing process, XDefiant has only been available to download for those on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, so it’s great to see Ubisoft is thinking of players who haven’t made the upgrade to next-get yet.
When will XDefiant come to PS4?
In another tweet on June 14, the Ubisoft Support account seemingly reaffirmed that XDefiant will be available on PS4 and Xbox One “during the release this Summer.”
On top of supporting cross-play, XDefiant is expected to feature cross-progression, so you’ll be able to switch between PS5, PC, and Xbox Series S|X (and later PS4 and Xbox One).
This article will be updated with more information on the PS4 release of XDefiant as it becomes available.
