The new-generation remake for The Last of Us Part I is officially out now for PlayStation 5 owners. This is the third console the first game has been released on, and PC players will soon get their shot at playing Naughty Dog’s modern masterpiece.
The Last of Us Part I will be coming to PC on March 28, just a few weeks after the finale of The Last of Us television series on HBO. The game was originally scheduled to release on PC on March 3 but has been pushed back to release on March 28.
“We know a lot of you have been revisiting the story that started it all with The Last of Us Part I on Playstation 5 console, and we realize that many of you have been excited to jump in —some for the first time—when Part I hits PC,” Naughty Dog said in an update earlier this year. “And so we want to make sure that The Last of Us Part I PC debut is in the best shape possible. These additional few weeks will allow us to ensure this version of The Last of Us lives up to your, and our, standards.”
HBO’s adaptation of The Last of Us will premier its season one finale on March 12, giving players a little over two weeks in between the ending of the show’s first season and the launch of the PC version of the game on March 28.

Since the game’s initial launch in 2013 for the PS3, it has been re-released on both PS4 and PS5 with two separate remakes. The Last of Us Part II was released in 2020 but is not expected to get a PC release anytime soon. The second season of HBO’s The Last of Us will likely adapt the contents of the second game.
In recent years, Sony has been working to bring former PlayStation exclusives to PC. God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and Horizon Zero Dawn are some of the prime examples of this initiative. The Last of Us Part I will join these games on March 28.
The Last of Us Part I is now available for PS5 owners, carrying a price tag of $70 and featuring some graphical improvements as well as gameplay additions. The standard version of The Last of Us Part I will cost $60 on PC, while the digital deluxe edition will cost $70.
