Lost in their backyard, players don’t have to tackle the terrifying trials and tribulations of being microscopic alone. Luckily, they won’t have to do it alone, thanks to Obsidian’s addition of pet bugs in Grounded.
You can tame Aphids, Weevils, and Gnats to hang around your base in the game. Here’s all the information you need to know about how to tame pets in Grounded.
How to tame pets in Grounded
To tame pets, you’ll need to enter the Haze Lab in the Haze Biome to get the construction recipe for a grinder. Once you have a grinder, you can make Slurry from various ingredients to lure pets to you so you can drop it near them and tame them.
Once you’ve gotten to the bottom of the Haze Lab, you’ll find a BURG.L chip that you can then take back to the BURG.L robot. To purchase the Grinder upgrade from the BURG.L bot, you must have at least 4,000 Raw Science points.
All bugs you can tame in Grounded and their effects
Once you’ve crafted the Grinder, you’ll need to make Slurry for whichever of the three insects you want to recruit as a pet.
Once you’ve made the correct Slurry, please take it to a nearby wild insect and drop it near them. They should notice and eat it, which will tame them as your pet. Once you’ve tamed it, the pet should follow you around, give ten additional inventory, and provide you with a notable boost.
Pet Insect: | Slurry Required: | Boosts: |
Aphids | Plant Slurry | Less stamina used to sprint |
Gnats | Spoiled Meat Slurry | Glide faster with Dandelions |
Weevils | Mushroom Slurry | Reduce how thirsty you get over time |
