One key conduit for almost all magic in the wizarding world is wands. They’re an iconic part of the Harry Potter franchise. As players assume the role of a late-entry fifth-year student entering Hogwarts for the first time, finding and familiarizing themselves with your wand will be an integral part of Hogwarts Legacy.

As you will likely wield the same wand throughout the entirety of Legacy, finding a wand you like is a very important part of the game’s customization options. Legacy comes with a wide variety of unique options players can choose from to create their own wand.

In the wizarding world, wands are the key instrument to performing magic. This makes them immensely important tools that players will want to construct carefully.

Hogwarts Legacy wand customization options, explained

Much like Harry Potter in the film franchise, players will pick up their wand of choice from Ollivander’s wand shop. The various gameplay trailers that have been released since Hogwarts Legacy’s announcement have shown various different wands, showcasing the wide range of customization options the game itself holds.

There are two different methods of obtaining a wand in Hogwarts Legacy. The first is to completely customize it yourself while the second is to import an existing wand.

Players can import their wand through the Wizarding World website’s wand quiz. The wand quiz asks players a series of questions to then reveal to them what their true wand would actually be if they were in the wizarding world, which makes this a great option for any player seeking the most accurate Hogwarts journey possible.

On the Wizarding World website, players can also take a test to determine their Hogwarts House and what creature they would get upon casting the Patronus spell. If players draw a wand from the test that they are not particularly attached to, Warner Bros. confirmed players will be able to change their choice of wand as part of the Wand Ceremony in-game.

All wand lengths in Hogwarts Legacy

Selecting the length of the wand is usually based on the general size of the witch or wizard. However, it can also sometimes reflect the individual personality of the witch or wizard which means those who prefer direct and refined spell-casting will likely get an average-sized wand while those with an exceptionally bold personality or a dramatic spell-casting style will likely obtain a wand on the larger side of the spectrum.

While these factors are generally how wand length is determined, all aspects of a wand uniquely contribute to creating the right wand. This means wand flexibility can drastically vary and will sometime not rely on the aforementioned attributes.

In Hogwarts Legacy, the range of wand sizes remains true to what was previously known within the wizarding world. This means that the player’s wands may be anywhere from 9½ inches to 14½ inches.

All wand flexibilities in Hogwarts Legacy

The flexibility of a given wand is based on the personality of its wielder. This means those who are very adaptable and easygoing will generally have a more bendy wand while those who are determined and unwavering will generally have a more rigid wand.

Like wand length, so too can wand flexibility vary drastically from the general traits associated with various flexibility types depending on what other components are present.
