GAMURS, the world’s largest esports media network, is excited to announce that its biggest brand is getting even bigger.
Dot Esports, the premier destination for esports news online, is merging with sister site GAMURS.com. The move will consolidate both of the GAMURS’ network editorial brands into one, expanding GAMURS’ reach across the rapidly growing esports industry.
GAMURS.com will redirect to DotEsports.com beginning March 15. Much of the GAMURS editorial staff will also make the move to Dot Esports. GAMURS.com’s social accounts, including Twitter and Facebook, will rebrand as Dot Esports. Readers of each site should expect to see even more of the content they love.
Dot Esports has established itself as the industry leader in feature, investigative reporting, and analysis since it was launched in December 2013. GAMURS.com has become the landing page for readers looking for instant news and live tournament coverage. The partnership will provide all esports fans with a single go-to resource for every notable event in global esports news.
“GAMURS has published great work and we’re incredibly proud of everything it’s accomplished since 2016, including considerable month-over-month growth in readership,” said Riad Chikhani, GAMURS CEO. “GAMURS and Dot Esports have thriving, individual communities that will benefit from GAMURS’ reactive, live coverage and Dot Esports’ deep-diving insights that uncover the bigger story. We are thrilled at the possibilities and opportunity this provides the readership and GAMURS’ overall network initiatives.”
The GAMURS network reaches more than 2.1 million monthly users. From Jan. 2016 to Jan. 2017, GAMURS’ monthly users increased by 440 percent. Dot Esports, one of the longest-running media brands in esports, had record traffic to start 2017. Its editorial and video product reached an average of 11 million people in both January and February.
With the merger, Dot Esports will fully leverage these combined resources and amplify both its reach and the volume and quality of its journalism.
“2016 was the year GAMURS Group broke onto the international scene and took our place at the forefront of esports” Chikhani said. “Our goal for 2017 is to entirely change the way esports fans consume their content, bringing the news to the people who want it, rather than relying on them to seek it out. This merger will consolidate the best quality esports coverage in the world into the one hub, and our massive social reach will enable us to serve the stories that are resonating to a global audience.”
