Rostermania is in full effect in the Gears of War esports scene, with Ghost Gaming releasing Demarco “Drix” Gaines and Hakeema “Keem” Gordon, according to tweets from both players earlier tonight.
In a tweet that has since been deleted, Drix announced that he has become a free agent, even though he still remains on good terms with Ghost Gaming. Both players came into the first season of the Gears Pro Circuit under the radar, but quickly rose to prominence as they helped bring their team to multiple top three placings.
The two are rumored to be replaced by Christopher “Xcells” Hill, formerly of Enigma6 Group, and Jourdan “JRibs” Ribeiro, formerly of Team EnVyUs. With Xcells’ in-game leadership and JRibs’ solid home hill play, the organization may have made the changes necessary to beat teams like Echo Fox and OpTic Gaming in order to finally bring home a title in the upcoming second season of Gears esports.
Combined with the breakout duo of Dylan “Speedy” Winston and Christian “Rushiez” Rivera, it seems like this potential Ghost Gaming lineup could upset the elite squadrons of Echo Fox and OpTic Gaming.
The rumored Ghost Gaming roster would include Yadiel “Sleepytime” Hidalgo, Christian Rushiez, Speedy, Xcells, JRibs, and Jacob “MvPR” Acre.
