Pandora’s Box is open, and the Fortnite servers are busy while the gods of Olympus arrive on the island in preparation for Chapter Five, season two. Here’s everything you need to know about the maintenance and when the Fortnite servers will come back online.
When will the Fortnite servers be back up?
The downtime for Fortnite Chapter Five, season two, started at 2am CT (8am UTC) and, according to the Epic Games Public Status website, was initially expected to finish at 7am CT (1pm UTC). However, the Fortnite Status account on X shared that downtime will be extended multiple times due to unforeseen issues. This means you shouldn’t expect the servers to be online until approximately 9pm CT (3am UTC).
Chapter Five, Season Two of Fortnite is now live. Be aware that long queue times may be encountered as you log on to the servers. Ensure you have restarted the game and downloaded the update!
I recommend you check the Public Status website every once in a while and be prepared to wait an extra hour or so considering potential login queue and server issues.
In the meantime, you can already download the update on all platforms. The update is around 23 GB in size, so it’s a good idea to start downloading it while the servers are still offline so you can be the first one in line to the battle bus.
What’s coming in Fortnite Chapter 5, season 2?
Fortnite Chapter Five, season two, is all about Greek myths and legends. We’ll see new themed POIs like Mount Olympus and The Underworld, new bosses, and, of course, skins.
There will also be a shift in the weapon meta, as multiple older weapons and items are being vaulted. Instead, we’ll have brand-new weapons and Mythic items to play around with, including Zeus’s Thunderbolt, Wings of Icarus, and Chains of Hades. On top of that, we’re rumored to see the return of the Floor is Lava LTM, as well as a new Star Wars collaboration event at some point during the season.
Fortnite Chapter Five, season two is expected to last until May 24, 2024, so buckle up and prepare to hunt down some gods.
