One of the newest items added to Fortnite: Battle Royale just before the start of season six has already been “temporarily removed” from the game.
Epic Games announced that it took the Port-a-Fortress out of the game to “address degraded performance.”
The Port-a-Fortress was first teased by Epic on Sept. 16 and was then promptly added to the game on Sept. 18. This means that the Legendary throwable item was only in Fortnite for 10 days before being temporarily removed.
The item essentially spawns a gigantic, defensive structure—similar to the Port-a-Fort, but much, much bigger. Epic will likely try to address the item’s performance issues before it considers bringing the Port-a-Fortress back into the game.

Fortnite fans aren’t strangers to items being disabled or removed, however. Just yesterday, the new Shadow Stones were disabled—but Epic announced in the same tweet as the Port-a-Fortress that the Shadow Stones are now re-enabled.
Many players will be curious to find out when the Port-a-Fortress returns to Fortnite: Battle Royale, and how different it’ll be if it does.
