Shroud plays Fortnite again and is surprised by the Drum Gun

He also complained about bugs.

Michael “shroud” Grzesiek criticized Fortnite: Battle Royale live on his Twitch channel once again last night.

Shroud found an issue where he failed to pick up a Med Kit on the ground, despite it being right in front of him, his character being in range, and his inventory having a free slot for it. “Picking shit up in this game is a nightmare,” shroud said. “You just don’t get the items. You press ‘F’ on an item so clearly and it says ‘let’s not give you that item.’”

He also demolished a player using a combination of the Boom Bow and the Drum Gun, which to his surprise is a powerful combination in Fortnite. “Stupid game” he said, laughing after getting an elimination on his opponent by rushing them with the Drum Gun.

It was the second time shroud played Fortnite in the last 30 days. In late April, he focused his comments on the competitive state of the game. He was surprised at how The Baller was a strong defensive and mobility item and said it had to be removed from the game for the Fortnite World Cup, since the vehicle was “a goddamn joke.”

Shroud’s criticism is different from Fortnite streamers. While the latter fire shots at how Epic Games’ updates abruptly shift the meta, shroud compares the game to other battle royale titles he’s used to playing, such as Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds and Apex Legends. In April, for instance, he noted that PUBG was somehow running better on the PC than Fortnite.

And his complaints also align with what the Fortnite community is worried about. Players unvaulted the Drum Gun in a special event in late April, and pros like NRG’s Zayt have been complaining about how the Drum Gun is too strong in structure and player damage. We though Epic would nerf it when season nine began, but the company only reduced its spawn rate.

Shroud seems to be playing Fortnite casually, similar to other variety streamers like Félix “xQc” Lengyel. Fans who hope to see shroud taking part in the Fortnite World Cup qualifiers still have to wait for him to confirm it, but if his livestreams tell us something, doing so isn’t part of his plans.
