Brutes are one of the most challenging enemies to fight, especially in the early stages of LEGO Fortnite. While you don’t need to fight one at first, considering its parts are only required about 20 hours in, you will need to face off against one eventually, either by yourself or with friends.
Below are tips to take on Brutes in LEGO Fortnite.
What are Brutes in LEGO Fortnite?
Brutes are large enemies resembling a prehistoric dinosaur-like creature in LEGO Fortnite. There are three menacing types:
- Brute
- Sand Brute
- Frost Brute
When taking on a Brute, bringing along a friend or NPC to help you is smart. Brutes have four different types of attacks:
- Normal Attack: Swing its massive arms at you.
- Charged Attack: Brute begins sprinting and charges you.
- Ranged Attack: Shoots acid-like projectile that can pool.
- Stomp: Essentially an AOE stomp attack.
How to find Brutes in LEGO Fortnite
Below is where to locate each type of Brute in LEGO Fortnite:

- Frost Brute: Frostlands biome.
How to defeat a Brute in LEGO Fortnite
You can head to the Beach or Desert biome to find a Brute. They are uncommon spawns, so walk around, and one should show up eventually. Once you find one, then it’s time for the hard part.
The best way to fight a Brute is through ranged combat. Make sure you have a tier two Uncommon Crossbow when going against it, at least, but if you have a higher rarity, that’ll make the job easier.
While it’s unnecessary, we also advise you to have equipment that boosts defense and hearts in case you take a hit. As you’ll mainly be fighting at range, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue, but it’s always best to have some fallback option.
While you can fight a Brute using swords, I highly discourage it. Not only is it slow, but I found myself dying most of the time as a solo player. Then I took the time to craft around 40-50 arrows and a few tier-two Crossbows, and I was mowing down Brutes like no tomorrow.
Keep your distance, unload your arrow, and watch for its charging attack. It should be smooth sailing to get that Brute Scale. Each type of Brute drops its own unique scale.
Correctly utilizing the dodge roll and the timing that comes with it can be very useful when dodging something as powerful as a brute or even quick creatures like rollers. Always be moving, and keep your finger on the dodge button until you discover enemy patterns.
Now that you know how to defeat a Brute in LEGO Fortnite, you can get out there and fight until your last breath. Good luck!
