It can be tough to figure out what items this quest is referring to and where to find them since there are so many different items scattered around the map. Here’s how to destroy Slap, Slurp, or Nitro Barrels in Fortnite so you can progress in the Pirates of the Caribbean Cursed Sails event.

To destroy Slurp, Slap, or Nitro Barrels in Fortnite, you need to locate and break 10 of these items. The best way to break these items is using your pickaxe or a car, preferably a Mythic car or one equipped with vehicle mods to make the process quicker.

Each of the three different types of barrels looks slightly different and grants a different effect when broken.

  • Slurp Barrels are silver and have the word “Slurp” painted on them with a mix of blue, green, and yellow. Each one of these barrels you break restores 10 Health or Shields depending on which one you need.
  • Slap Barrels are orange and grey with the words “Slap Juice” on them. These also restore 10 Health of Shields, but they have the bonus Slap Effect too. This effect grants unlimited stamina for a short period of time.
  • Nitro Barrels apply the Nitro effect when destroyed. This effect applies all kinds of useful buffs including those like fall damage immunity, increased reload speed, and enhanced movement speed.

For the most part, all Slurp, Slap, and Nitro barrels are spread out randomly around the map, so it might take many rounds to finish this task if you don’t plan carefully. But if you want to complete this task to earn XP and Cursed Gold as quickly as possible, there are a few specific spots worth visiting.

In total, there are three spots you can visit to make finishing this task a lot quicker. These locations are:

  • A pile of Slurp Barrels near the pier in Shipwreck Shallows. It’s fairly close to the spot where you can find the Cursed Sails NPC Barbossa.
  • A stack of Slurp Barrels up on a snowy mountain to the south of Grand Glacier. This pile is inside a room with a sliding door just east of a circular campsite area. It’s also fairly close to Jack Sparrow.
  • A pile of Slurp Barrels in a small room near the south end of the Graveyard. This is a tiny room right near the central building in this area.

The toughest part of this task is finding the items you need, so once you know where to look, it’s fairly easy to get this one done. Even trickier tasks await you after this one including quests like destroying the nine false pieces of eight so you can get closer to claiming Jack’s Ship Glider.
