It appears the launch of Fortnite: Battle Royale on Android is imminent, as the game’s Android Package Kit has leaked. This has allowed some to play the game on specific Android phones before the actual launch.

The APK was posted to the “Fortnite Leaks” Subreddit with specific info on how to get it to run and bypass a whole bunch of obstacles to get it to run. The game can currently play on Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy On7 2017, Galaxy S7/S7 Edge, Galaxy S8/S8 Plus, and Galaxy S9/S9 Plus.

Since there are currently no Android servers, in order to play in a game, players then must invite a friend from a separate platform and make them the party leader. It’s really a lot of work to get the game going, but if you have none of the other five platforms that the game can run on and you’re desperate to drop Tilted Towers, then this is your only option for now.

Last week, it was revealed that Fortnite would be bypassing the Google Play Store altogether. Whenever the game is officially ready to go live, it will be downloadable through the Epic Games website. It’s possible that this decision lead to the current leak.

The decision to do so is a controversial one, especially since Epic founder Tim Sweeney confirmed that it was basically a money decision in an effort to sidestep the 30 percent store tax that comes with posting a game on the Google Play Store. Some have also criticized the move on Epic’s part as an invitation for scammers to take advantage of younger players downloading outside of the hardware’s native storefront.

Fortnite on Android is still slated for a release some time this summer.
