Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launched on Thursday, Feb. 29, and if you’re planning to pick up and play the sequel to 2020’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake, you may be wondering how long it’s going to take you to complete the remade story.

How long is the main story of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?

It took us roughly 50 hours to beat the main story in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, though that did include the occasional distraction to tackle sidequests and minigames.

If you focus entirely on the story, you could get it done in around 40 hours. That’s a pretty significant amount of time, but if you want to explore the entirety of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth by completing the minigames, finding all the collectibles, and engaging in every sidequest, you are going to be looking at an even longer playtime.

How long is the entirety of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?

If you want to complete all the sidequests and minigames in FF7 Rebirth, you’re going to be facing upwards of a whopping 100 hours of gameplay, according to director Naoki Hamaguchi, who shared the details on X (formerly Twitter) in 2023.

Completionists and general Final Fantasy enthusiasts are going to need to put aside a fair amount of time to finish everything the game has to offer, from obtaining all of the Summons to unlocking every FF7 Rebirth trophy. If that describes you, you’re going to want to book plenty of time off, as it’s going to be a long and exciting adventure.
