Fans of Dragon’s Dogma don’t have to wait much longer for the release of the sequel Dragon’s Dogma 2, thanks to the March 22 release date. Many wonder whether Capcom will release a demo beforehand to allow fans to play the game before the official release.
With this in mind, let’s have a look at whether Dragon’s Dogma 2 has a demo to give players a taste of what is to come.
Is there a Dragon’s Dogma 2 demo?
Unfortunately, there is currently no Dragon’s Dogma 2 demo. Some have suspected Capcom is planning a demo at some point. On Feb. 16, Redditor CannedBeanofDeath pointed out some changes made to the Steam listing on SteamDB that suggested this. The noteworthy change can be seen as a “free on demand” entry under the “packages” tab, per the image below.
Capcom does have a habit of releasing demos for its big releases, such as the Resident Evil 4 remake’s Chainsaw demo. But on March 7, the publisher showcased Dragon’s Dogma 2 during a Capcom Highlights digital event. Despite featuring new details and footage for the RPG in the wake of previews, Capcom didn’t mention a demo.
That showcase would have been the perfect time to announce a demo, especially with Dragon’s Dogma 2 scheduled to launch soon, so looks like Capcom doesn’t intend to release one. Instead, it’s provided fans with a Dragon’s Dogma 2 character creator, meaning you can spend hours perfecting your custom character before launch.
Admittedly, Capcom hasn’t explicitly said there never will be a demo, so one could arrive in the near future. We will keep you updated on any news regarding a Dragon’s Dogma 2 demo. But if you plan on waiting to play the game until the full release, it launches for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and on the PC via Steam on March 22.
