Dota Underlords has been released in closed beta as Valve’s take on Auto Chess. This is now the company’s official game in the autobattler genre taking place in the Dota 2 universe.
With Valve’s announcement of Underlords, it confirmed that the game will also be available on mobile platforms, both on Android and iOS. The company said in a blog post that the mobile version will be available to all players once the open beta starts “approximately a week of stress testing” of the closed beta for Dota 2 Battle Pass owners.
That means players should expect Dota Underlords to release on mobile in the week of June 17, most likely on Thursday, June 20.

The release of Dota Underlords on mobile platforms will mark the addition of new content in the game. Valve plans on adding ranked matchmaking, crossplay between all devices, and shared rank and progression across all platforms of a unique account as soon as the open beta is live.
That means players on mobile platforms will be able to use the same account as their PC Dota Underlords.
Valve will then start competing with the Dota 2 Auto Chess mod creators, who has its own take of the game already available on mobile platforms across the world simply as Auto Chess.
Valve and the Dota 2 Auto Chess creators discussed making the original mod an official Valve game, but there was no agreement to make that happen. They instead settled this by both companies choosing to release their own Auto Chess games, with the mod creators removing Dota’s art assets from their version but keeping the mechanics untouched. Valve now owns all the rights to the only official Dota autobattler game.
