Capybaras are cute animals you can feed and befriend in Disney Dreamlight Valley. They’re one of my favorite animals in the game because of how cuddly they appear. However, knowing their favorite foods and when they’ll appear can be tricky.

What do Capybaras eat in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

In Disney Dreamlight Valley, Capybaras eat Cabbage, their favorite food, as well as bamboo and cinnamon (their favorite food).

Both of these ingredients are new to Disney Dreamlight Valley as they can only be obtained from Eternity Isle, the new world added in the A Rift in Time expansion. However, if you’re not sure where to get these items, you can find them in the following locations:

  • Cabbage: This can be bought from Goofy’s Stall in the Wild Tangle. Once you purchase and plant the seeds, it takes about an hour for them to grow.
  • Bamboo: This can be found growing wild in the Grove, Grasslands, Promenade, and Lagoon biomes of the Wild Tangle.
  • Cinnamon: This is a spice you can forage from the ground in the Grove, Grasslands, Promenade, and Lagoon biomes of the Wild Tangle.
Tip:

If you want the best rewards from feeding your Capybara, you must feed them cabbages. Otherwise, bamboo and cinnamon will work if you don’t want to wait an hour for the cabbage to grow.

In Disney Dreamlight Valley, you can find capybaras only in the Wild Tangle. However, each variant lives in different biomes of the Wild Tangle, which means you can find the five different capybara variants only in the following locations:

  • Black and White Capybara: The Promenade biome in the Wild Tangle
  • Blue Striped Capybara: The Grove biome in the Wild Tangle
  • Classic Capybara: The Grasslands biome in the Wild Tangle
  • Gray Spotted capybara: The Lagoon biome in the Wild Tangle
  • Red and White Striped Capybara: The Lagoon biome in the Wild Tangle
How to unlock the Wild Tangle

You can unlock the Wild Tangle by completing Jafar’s Flying Metal Nusiance quest, which will also unlock EVE. The Wild Tangle is an area in Eternity Isle that is only accessible to those who own the A Rift in Time expansion.

If you love capybaras, the Founders pack for the A Rift in Time expansion also has a special pet you can own, the Flowery Capybara. However, you don’t need to feed the Flowery Capybara its favorite food.

Why should you befriend animals in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

When you feed a critter in Disney Dreamlight Valley, they will reward you. However, you will get different rewards depending on what you feed them, which means:

  • If you feed them their favorite foods, you will get a Dream Shard, Memory Shard, or a Motif Bag.
  • If you feed them their liked foods, you will get a Dream Shard, a Memory Shard, or depending on the critter; you can get seeds, harvestable items, or mining items that can be found in the area.
    • For Capybara, this can be anything from Cabbage seeds, Turnip seeds, or anything else grown, foraged, or mined from the Wild Tangles.

Another benefit to feeding animals is they can become your furry companion. I love having different pets to follow me around as I tend to my garden and hoard as many pumpkins as possible. Different critters are running around the Dreamilght Valley and the Enternity Isle, each with unique methods to approach and feed them.

But this is everything you need to know about what to feed capybaras and where to find them in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
