Esu’s Heirloom was one of the Ancestral Unique Boots revamped after Diablo 4 Patch 1.5.0. These boots, which now offer an added bonus for Sorcerers, have improved and new affixes and a buffed effect. So, getting them will be worthwhile.
Here’s where to find them in Sanctuary and why they’re great for Diablo 4 builds.
How to get Esu’s Heirloom in Diablo 4, explained
Like all Ancestral Unique items in Diablo 4, you have a chance of obtaining Esu’s Heirloom simply by enjoying World Tier Four Events, World Bosses, opening chests and tortured gear chests, running Nightmare Dungeons, and opening Boot Whisper Caches.
These are all purely random, meaning there’s no clear way to farm for Esu’s Heirloom. That said, they’re all quite easy and there are certainly plenty of them option-wise so you won’t get too bored—you can just play and hope for RNG boons.
If you’d prefer a more guaranteed way to get Esu’s Heirloom, it also drops from the endgame bosses Beast in the Ice and Varshan. You can target farm these enemies because they have a chance to drop the boots every victory.
So, as long as you have summoning materials, you can keep defeating and resummoning them endlessly. The biggest problem is it costs a lot of resources to summon both, and they can be challenging. It’s one of the best ways to target farm an item though, and you have the added bonus of also getting other uniques.
If you’ve never summoned either, you’ll need the following materials:
- The Beast in the Ice Nine Distilled Fear.
- Varshan: Five Malignant Hearts (World Tier Four)
Farming these Diablo 4 bosses will give you a better chance of getting Esu’s Heirloom.
Esu’s Heirloom stats after Patch 1.5.0
Esu’s Heirloom wasn’t completely reworked like other Ancestral Unique items in Patch 1.5.0, but many of the boots affixes were still buffed or altered, as was the effect. The stats for these Diablo 4 boots now read:
- Increased movement speed.
- Increased critical strike damage.
- Increased resistance to all elements.
- Evade grants increased movement speed for three seconds.
- Increased movement speed for seven seconds after killing an elite.
- Your critical strike chance is increased by a percent of your movement speed bonus.
- Current move speed critical strike chance bonus is only for Sorcerers.
If you’re a Sorcerer, these shoes can be quite essential, especially if you’ve built a critical strike chance and critical strike damage-focused build in Diablo.
