The Dreaming City is coming back to the spotlight in Destiny 2’s Season of the Wish after its heyday in Forsaken and prominence in 2021’s Season of the Lost. But the Confluence—one of its most important locations—doesn’t appear on any Dreaming City map.
The Confluence connects the Spine of Keres, Harbinger’s Seclude, and the Gardens of Esila. This mysterious area is a link between the deepest areas in the Divalian Mists, Rheasilvia, and the Strand, making for a handy (if long) way to traverse the Dreaming City. In Season of the Wish, it’s also home to a Starcat.
It’s also a quick way to access all three necessary areas in week six of the Season of the Wish storyline, marking a shortcut of sorts for players who want to progress through the story. Here’s how you can get to this area.
How to reach the Confluence in the Dreaming City in Destiny 2
There are a few portals to the Confluence in the Dreaming City, but we’ll start with the easiest one to access. Arrive at Divalian Mists at the Dreaming City, then head to the northeast corner of that zone and pass through the crystal gate that takes you to the Spine of Keres. Once you follow the path and jump the gaps to the Spine, hug the wall on your left until you reach a bridge. Don’t cross the bridge, but follow the rock pathway to your immediate right that goes down and it will take you into a cave with a Taken portal.
Go through the portal and you’ll arrive in a strange area, but follow the long corridor down to the room with the big glowing crystal. You are now in the Confluence, and just past that is its main room.
The atrium connects to four different areas: three are entrances to the Spine of Keres, Gardens of Esila, and Harbinger’s Seclude, each marked by a structure. The quartz-like crystal indicates the Divalian Mists, while the Awoken statue points to the Harbinger’s Seclude and the tree connects to the Gardens of Esila. It’s easy to figure out what corridor leads where once you make that connection since each area is represented visibly.
The Harbinger’s Seclude entrance leads to the bottom of the area in Rheasilvia, into the oval room with the Ahamkara Bones that’s a part of one of the weekly Dreaming City missions. Gardens of Esila will take you to the gazebo on the far corner of the area, the same gazebo that appears in the Coil.
The last area within the Confluence—the one with the ominous, dark gateway—is the entrance to the Shattered Throne dungeon. In Forsaken, the dungeon was only available once every three weeks, though players can access it at will from their Destinations tab. The portal still stands there for the scenery, though.
