Guardians who dove into Destiny 2 during last year’s Season of the Splicer were already familiar with the Eliksni Quarter, accessible in the Last City, and the zone played an important role in Season of Plunder.
Now, players can spruce it up as part of Destiny 2’s Eliksni Quarter community event, which runs between Nov. 22 and the end of Season of Plunder on Dec. 6.
For the event, players can earn Captain’s Coins from several activities and donate them to the Eliksni Quarter, revitalizing its infrastructure and making a comfier sanctuary for the Eliksni that have been flocking to the Last City.
Earning Captain’s Coins is the core part of the community event, and they drop from select activities and locations across the Solar System—from Lost Sectors and rituals to the King’s Fall raid.
There are seven milestones for depositing enough Captain’s Coins as a community, which range from 40 million to 400 million Captain’s Coins. Though the big prize lies in finishing the final milestone of 400 million Captain’s Coins, the community will receive rewards for each milestone they achieve, including the ability to deposit other Season of Plunder currencies like Map Fragments and Treasure Coordinates. Players can also earn rewards based on their individual performance, which include a Ghost Shell and an Ascendant Shard.

Where to find Captain’s Coins in Destiny 2’s Eliksni Quarter community event
Captain’s Coins drop from a myriad of activities, and not all of them are related to the season. This means all players can earn Captain’s Coins and help rebuild the Eliksni Quarter, even if they don’t own Season of Plunder.
As far as matchmade activities go, the coveted Captain’s Coins drop from Strikes, Crucible, Gambit, and Dares of Eternity, as well as the Season of Plunder-exclusive Ketchcrash and Expedition activities. The more exploration-driven Destiny 2 Guardians can also hunt them down in destination chests, Lost Sectors, and public events, while a brave fireteam can find Captain’s Coins inside King’s Fall if they embark on the raid. This opens a decent amount of variety for players to find Captain’s Coins in their own way.
For the first few hours of the event, players encountered a bug that caused Captain’s Coins not to drop from Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit. The issue was fixed shortly after the event launched, meaning players can earn activities from those missions. As part of the fix, Bungie also made it so players can receive Captain’s Coins without equipping the Parts of a Whole emblem from the community event.
Best ways to farm Captain’s Coins for the Eliksni Quarter community event
Players have a wide array of good options to farm Captain’s Coins, and they aren’t overly constricting in terms of player choice. If you’re doing specific activities in tandem with your hunt for Captain’s Coins—for instance, if you’re hard-farming Nightfalls for some loot—you can focus on those activities and odds are you’ll still rack up a good deal of Captain’s Coins. After obtaining the ability to deposit Treasure Coordinates and Map Fragments, progress through the event became much much quicker.
If you want to rack up Captain’s Coins quickly, though, the best farm will depend on your speed. Farming a quick Lost Sector on normal difficulty, like the Atrium on EDZ, will probably be your best bet. It drops 15 Captain’s Coins per completion and another 15 Map Fragments, which amounts to 30 Captain’s Coins very quickly. Higher-difficulty Lost Sectors have the same yield but take longer to complete. If you’re farming for Exotics, though, you can rack up a decent amount of Captain’s Coins while trying to best RNG for the god-rolled Exotic you’re chasing.
Regular Strikes, on the other hand, give you 35 Captain’s Coins and 45 Map Fragments, which is still a lesser investment. Ketchcrash is also a decent option. Though Lost Sectors seem to be the best way to hard-farm Captain’s Coins, odds are you’ll get more benefit out of farming them alongside other activities and objectives.

- Garden (320 mi): Unlocks the chance for an Eliksni Quarter Gift Box to drop upon completing a Gambit match.
- Town Square (400 mi): Unlocks the chance for an Eliksni Quarter Gift Box to drop upon completing a Crucible match.
