Chronophage god rolls and best perks in Destiny 2

A lot of in-slot competition, but this one might stand out above them all.

As Destiny 2 guardians turn away from primary weapons and prioritize special weapons, many have shown a vested interest in finding a good trace rifle—and Chronophage might just fit the bill.

Chronophage is a Void trace rifle, and as such, it comes with the Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds combo. This is incredibly potent when used in combination with Void subclass aspects and fragments, but even on its own, it’s a great roll.

If you’re not feeling the all-Void setup, go for Feeding Frenzy and Desperate Measures, which is the modern-day Rampage (but better thanks to the melee and grenade stacking bonus!). If you’re all-in on this being your new primary, also consider Shoot to Loot in the first column to collect those sweet Orbs and ammo drops—but definitely run a Void Scavenger legs mod if you go down this path.

Trait TwoTarget Lock

PvP’s a little more straightforward. With limited ammo, chaining multi-kills together is pretty tough unless you get lucky and hold a few special ammo drops, so we’re pairing Target Lock with your choice of Pugilist or Strategist.

Pugilist is great for those hoping to chain melee abilities together in the Crucible, whereas Strategist is better all-around as it helps get that class ability back. If Target Lock isn’t feeling good for you, Fragile Focus is a decent second option in column two for that range bonus.

How to get Chronophage in Destiny 2

Chronophage is a weapon from the Episode: Echoes collection, meaning you’ll need to visit Failsafe in the H.E.L.M and redeem your Echoes Engrams for one. Once you’ve unlocked Engram focusing, you’ll be able to continually roll for random copies of Chronophage, and you’ll be able to get them as drops from Battlegrounds and other Episode: Echoes seasonal activities.

This weapon is also craftable, meaning that once you’ve unlocked five Deepsight (red-border) versions of Chronophage, you’ll be able to craft a copy for yourself in The Enclave with enhanced perks. I wouldn’t recommend using Deepsight Harmonizers on this one, by the way—save them for weapons that don’t drop as frequently as Chronophage.
