The original Whisper mission was known for its secrets, but the reprised version of this iconic Destiny 2 mission also has a few tricks of its own—including multiple Oracles for players to find.
These hidden Oracles are akin to collectibles in dungeons and grant rewards when players destroy them. The first Oracle gave us the full upgrade to Whisper of the Worm’s intrinsic, while the second dropped schematics for the Karve of the Worm ship (though that didn’t let me craft it just yet).
Oracles seem to spawn only once per mission. In my first Legend run, I shot the first one and got all four intrinsics for Whisper of the Worm, but my clanmates got nothing. Even when reshaping the sniper, they couldn’t improve it past rank one. It’s unclear if this is intended behavior.
Oracles aren’t the only secret in the overhauled Whisper, though. Players also have the Whispers of the Taken quest line, which tasks them with destroying Taken Blights.
Where to find all Oracles for the Oracular Seeker triumph in Destiny 2
Here are the locations of all Oracles in Destiny 2‘s Whisper mission, which we found thanks to content creator Esoterickk. The game lists seven of them which are required for the Oracular Seeker triumph. They are on a time-gate, though, so we’ll update this list once more Oracles eventually appear.
First oracle: When Xol speaks to you
The first two Oracles are located early into the mission, and you barely need to take down any enemies to get them. The first one is located in the room where Xol first speaks to you, while the second one is just past the elevator section.
When you first hear Xol’s voice, the regular path takes you to a ledge lit by a red light. Instead of jumping down, look for another ledge on your left and climb on it to find the Oracle at the end of an alcove.
Second Oracle: After the elevator
For the second Oracle, hop onto the elevator and climb onto a ledge. Instead of following the correct path through a hole in the wall, hug the ledge on your right. Once you jump to a slightly higher piece of the wall, look up to find a small alcove with this Oracle’s shining light on it.
Third Oracle: Before the door that slams on your face
The third Oracle is located just past the elevator section, in the area where you encounter Vandal snipers. When you get to the area with the hole in the wall, jump on the ledge but do not go through the opening. Instead, turn around and look for a Vex node, then shoot it and fly to the ledge that spawns to find an Oracle.
Fourth Oracle: Within the ruined room
The fourth Oracle, on the other hand, is located inside the overgrown room with the ruins in the middle. This room requires a lot of parkour to find the right path, but once you do, you’ll find an Oracle right where you need to be to advance to the next area.
Fifth Oracle: Below the green room, before moving on
Oracle five appears below the player when they enter the ruined, overgrown room. Move a few steps forward and look at the crevice on the ground just in front of you. You can spot a ledge below the floor, which will fill with Taken enemies once you drop down.
Once you’re there, look across from the entrance to find a dark, dimly lit hallway. Head toward it and look for a small nook on the wall on your right, which will contain the Oracle you’re looking for. Its light gives away its position.
From here, you can turn around and go back through a door on the far left side of the room (if you’re facing the entrance). This will get you back up to the grassy room, and you can use the shortcut right by the entrance door to save some time. Go through the nook between the rocks and the wall, then follow the path on your right to get out quickly.
Sixth Oracle: Before making a long jump toward a door in the middle of a wall
When Xol says you should drown in the Deep, circle the ledge until you get to a plank-like structure required to get to the other side of the room. Do not jump from the platform, since the last two Oracles are in this area.
Instead of jumping, pull out your Ghost and look for a ledge on the left side. This leads to a crevice within the wall with an Oracle inside it. Don’t jump across, either.
Seventh Oracle: Behind the Vex portal in the Anomaly
If you’ve shot all six Oracles before it, a message will pop up on your chat saying the seventh Oracle appears. Jump back to the ledge and backtrack until you find a foothold on the wall across from you. Jump to the piece of the wall that looks suspiciously like the beginning of a path, then head straight in the direction of the Vex portal on the other side of the room. Climb until you get there, then shoot the Oracle from afar.
The Vex portal didn’t open for us, but if you end up getting stranded, jump to the ledge with a red light on it and look for a path on the wall. Jump and keep following it until you return to the entrance, which will let you proceed to the end of the mission normally.
Are the Whisper Oracles time-gated?
The Whisper Oracles were time-gated until the final set released on April 23, 2024. This means players had to wait a few weeks to obtain them, but they should all be available after that date. Bungie has used time-gates on different occasions in Into the Light alone, including with the drip-fed release of the BRAVE Arsenal (with two per week after Bungie received player backlash), and the same principles should apply to Zero Hour.
What do you get by finding all Oracles in Whisper?
Shooting all Oracles in the Whisper mission completes the Oracular Seeker triumph, which grants you the Karve of the Worm ship.
Karve of the Worm is a changed-up version of the iconic A Thousand Wings ship, available through the original Whisper mission. Veteran players can still equip their legacy items, but newcomers finally get a shot at obtaining a version of this stylish ship.
